This December marks the 11th anniversary of my father's first brain surgery. Every year since 2004, he has had brain surgery--until about three years ago when they tried radiation instead. The radiation helped and shrunk the tumor, but recent MRIs suggest that the tumor is growing again. The first round of radiation had severe side effects, so I believe my parents want to try chemotherapy this time.
People always ask me "How do you handle this?" Well, the truth is, it is all I have known. My entire life, since I was 7, has been about my father getting brain surgery and not knowing if it will be the last time I see him. I am used to it. It's just become my life.
This is amazing! Im so happy to hear that your fathers doing great, and Im happy i was able to read your paper, and understand a little bit of your background and understand where you come from. This makes me happy that you're doing well!! As well as your father (:
